Russia: Protests in Grozny
Friend of abducted Chechen woman fined 150,000 rubles for picket in Grozny The Akhmatovsky District Court of Grozny fined Petersburg resident Lena Patyaeva 150,000 rubles under a protocol on repeated violation of requirements for holding public events. Mediazona drew attention to this. The reason was Patyaeva's solo picket in Grozny on August 23, on the anniversary of the abduction of Chechen woman Seda Suleymanova. The girl went to the monument to fallen journalists with a poster "I demand an investigation into the murder of Seda Suleymanova." The action coincided with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Akhmat Kadyrov. 🔵 Who is this. Lena Patyaeva is a friend of Chechen woman Seda Suleymanova. In 2022, the girl fled from relatives from Chechnya to St. Petersburg due to threats of honor killing. In 2023, Chechen security forces abducted her and took her back home. According to Patyaeva, Suleymanova has not been in contact since then. It is assumed that the Chechen woman may have been killed. In April 2024, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the girl's disappearance under the article on murder, however, no results of the investigation have been reported. After Suleymanova's disappearance, Patyaeva constantly holds solo pickets and writes appeals to various authorities demanding an investigation into the incident. 📍 Read without VPN Photo: "Word for protection" Subscribe to "Novaya-Europe"
