About Newsmap

Newsmap is a real-time event-intelligence project that maps global conflict, protest, and political developments as they are reported. It is operated as an independent project under the Newsmap brand at serve-share.com.

What it does

Newsmap continuously aggregates publicly reported incidents, places them on an interactive map, and lets you filter, search, and explore them by location, event type, source, and time. Every event links back to its original source so you can verify it yourself.

Where the data comes from

  • Telegram channels — public channels that report on-the-ground events.
  • RSS feeds — established news outlets and wire services.
  • News APIs — aggregated reporting from multiple publishers.

How events are classified

Incoming reports are processed by an automated pipeline that uses AI to translate, summarize, geolocate, and categorize each event. Classification follows the ACLED taxonomy for event types, disorder categories, and actor interactions, and each item carries a veracity indicator (for example, confirmed versus single-source).

A note on sensitive content

Newsmap covers conflict zones, humanitarian crises, and other distressing events. The labels and summaries shown are neutral, factual descriptions of reported incidents drawn from public sources — they are not endorsements, opinions, or calls to action, and they do not advocate violence. Classifications are produced automatically and may contain errors; always consult the linked original source before relying on any item.
