Ukraine: Event in Vyshhorod
Yesterday, bikers came to say goodbye to 14-year-old Illia Honcharov, who was killed by a Russian missile strike on his home in Vyshhorod, Kyiv region, on September 30. Illia loved motorcycles. His family asked bikers to join the farewell ceremony. Many answered the call. "Our boy, Illiusha, loved motorcycles very much. He simply lived for them. He started with a moped, then had a Viper and a Shineray. He took great care of each of his motorcycles, looked after them, cherished them, and constantly dreamed of owning a Kawasaki. We want to say goodbye to Illiusha in a way that would have been close to his heart. We ask everyone who has a motorcycle and is able to come to join us in saying farewell." The Honcharov family had moved to Kyiv region from Sumy region, fleeing constant Russian attacks. But Russia destroyed their home in Kyiv region with a missile. Illia’s parents, Pavlo and Olena, and his sister, Liza, survived. Illia was trapped under the rubble and suffered fatal injuries. This is beyond heartbreaking... My deepest condolences to Illia’s family... Russia took away Illia’s childhood, his dreams, and his future. Children must live and enjoy life - not be killed by Russia’s war.
