United States: Execution in Tennessee
The surviving Krista Pike after two execution attempts came to her senses. 50-year-old American Krista Pike, sentenced to death and who survived two injections, "is conscious and can speak," her lawyers reported on Tuesday. According to their statement, Pike continues to be treated in the intensive care unit of a Tennessee hospital, where she was admitted unconscious last week after an execution attempt - the administration of two lethal injections of pentobarbital, which nevertheless did not take her life. US law provides that a person sentenced to death can only be given two such injections. Pike was sentenced to the supreme measure of punishment for the murder of Colleen Slimmer in 1995, when she was 18 years old. BBC told about her case here. 🔗 Site without VPN | YouTube | Newsletter | New BBC World Service app
