Russia: Explosions/remote violence in Novomoskovsk
A former employee of the Federal Penitentiary Service, whom Ukraine accused of torturing prisoners of war, was blown up in a car near Tula. On October 2, in the city of Novomoskovsk, Tula Oblast, a car belonging to a participant in the war with Ukraine exploded. According to the anonymous channel "VCHK-OGPU", the deceased driver's name was Roman Syromyatnikov. The death of a person with this name was confirmed by the publication "Novomoskovsk today". In the 2010s, Syromyatnikov worked in institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) of the Tula region. In 2023, he signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Russia, and at the end of 2024, he returned to the Tula region for treatment, writes "Vazhnye istorii", citing leaked data. The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine accused Syromyatnikov of participating in the torture and beatings of Ukrainian prisoners of war held in this colony in 2022, as an employee of IK-1 of the Tula region. At the same time, Syromyatnikov himself said that before going to war (at least since 2021), he was a safety teacher at a college in Novomoskovsk. In the picture – Syromyatnikov's blown-up car.
