Brazilians abroad begin voting in New Zealand Now on g1 The voting for Brazilians living abroad began in Oceania this Sunday (4). New Zealand was the first country to open the polls, at 8 am local time, equivalent to 4 pm this Saturday (3) Brasília time. The polling station was opened in the country's capital, Wellington. In total, 918,876 Brazilians with electoral domicile outside the country are eligible to vote in 2026, according to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). The electorate abroad represents just over 0.5% of the total Brazilian electorate and has grown 358% since 2010. Women are the majority among Brazilian voters registered abroad. They correspond to 57% of the electorate, while men represent 43%. Among voters, 52% are single. Voting outside Brazil takes place in 134 countries. Due to different time zones, the process extends for more than 29 hours and only ends at 9 pm on Sunday (4), Brasília time, in polling stations located in Canada. Brazilians with electoral domicile abroad vote only for president and vice-president of the Republic. There is no voting for governor, senator, or federal, state, and district deputies.
