Russia: Strategic developments in St. Petersburg

Both names are part of our history, and each is dear to many generations of citizens. Chairman of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly, Belsky, sees no need to return to the issue of renaming the city. This is how he commented to TASS on the initiative to return the name Leningrad to the Northern Capital: "Leningrad will forever remain a symbol of the courage, resilience, and unparalleled feat of its citizens. St. Petersburg is the name given to the city by Peter the Great, with which its formation, development, and current successes are associated."
